| Our mission is to provide children with cancer
and their families in Connecticut and Massachusetts with the opportunities
and support to enjoy the life they fight so hard for. It is our
belief that by supporting children with cancer and their loved ones
during the treatment and recovery process, we can alleviate disease-related
stress and ultimately improve their overall quality of life. Time
For Life adheres to the below organizational goals and objectives:
Programs
To continue to establish valuable effective family-centered and
community-based programs for children with cancer and their families
in Connecticut and Massachusetts.
Parent Advocacy
To promote parent advocacy and provide families of children with
cancer with emotional and material resources to care for the diagnosed
child.
Bereavement
To address bereavement issues specific to families who have experienced
a loss of a child to cancer.
Quality of Life
To help improve the quality of life for children with cancer and
their families in Connecticut and Massachusetts.
Family Impact
To address the family impact of a cancer diagnosis in a child, recognizing
the psychosocial needs of each family member as individuals and to the needs of the entire family unit.
Survivorship
To continue to serve children and families over the long term, considering
the shift from providing services to families of children with cancer
from an acute to chronic approach.
Mental Well-Being
To address the psychosocial issues specific to families who have
experienced medically intensive treatments, such as bone marrow
or stem cell transplantation.
