Finish Line Foundation grants $5000.00 towards the
2005 Time for Life Summer Program
The Finish Line Youth Foundation has generously granted $5000.00 to Time For Life for its 2005 Summer Program. Time For Life is thrilled to be providing its 5th annual summer program in Martha's Vineyard this year for Connecticut and Massachusetts children with cancer and their families. The summer program seeks to create an opportunity for families of children with cancer to enjoy quality time outside of a clinical environment. This program, unlike many others available for children with cancer, welcomes the entire family in acknowledgement that when a child is diagnosed, the family unit suffers as a whole.
"We are so grateful for the support of foundations such as the Finish Line Youth Foundation, which enable Time For Life to continue this important program. This year approximately 40 families of children with cancer will be able to enjoy an all-expense paid stay on Martha's Vineyard." said Executive Director, Marci Spellman.
The Finish Line Youth Foundation raises funds through The Finish Line, Inc. (Nasdaq: FINL - News), one of the nation's leading athletic specialty retailers, operating 598 stores throughout the country. The Youth Foundation makes grants to registered non-profit organizations that provide athletic and wellness programs to America's youth.

$5000.00 gives teens with cancer something
to smile about in Connecticut
01/12/04 - Dallas - According to the Connecticut tumor registry approximately
145 teenage girls were diagnosed with cancer from 1995 - 2001 in Connecticut
alone. As if being a teenage girl isn't hard enough - with school,
boys and acne - these girls are having to worry about much more serious
things. In addition to their life-threatening illnesses, they are
facing changes in their appearance like hair loss, impaired growth,
skin abnormalities and even loss of limbs. That's why the WHO (Women
Helping Others ®) Foundation is thrilled to award $5000.00 to the
H.A.T.S. O.F.F. (Helping Adolescents To Step Out Feeling Fabulous)
Program of Time For Life, West Hartford, CT.
The H.A.T.S. O.F.F program addresses body image and self esteen concerns
for young women who have been diagnosed with cancer, in an effort
to help improve their overall quality of life. Time For Life received
$5000.00 to help pay for food, services and supplies necessary for
the H.A.T.S. O.F.F. program.
“We are so grateful for this opportunity to join efforts with
the WHO Foundation,” said Executive Director, Marci Spellman.
“This program is a perfect fit for WHO because not only are
we helping women, but children in need as well.”
The WHO Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization founded
in 1993 by Jinger L. Heath, co-founder of BeautiControl, Inc. Since
its inception, the Foundation has awarded more than $1.9 million to
over 250 women and children’s organizations helping more than
250,000 women and children in need throughout the United States and
Peurto Rico.
