innovative programs and services, and helps us remain one of the
only community-based organization that aids the mental and physical
health of children with cancer and their families with such a high
level of intense and direct services.
Time For Life's programs and services work to further the following
goals:
Programs
To continue to establish valuable effective family-centered and
community-based programs for children with cancer and their families
Parent Advocacy
To promote parent advocacy and provide families of children with
cancer with emotional and material resources to care for the diagnosed
child
Bereavement
To address bereavement issues specific to families who have experienced
a loss of a child to cancer
Quality of Life
To improve the quality of life for children with cancer and their
families
Family Impact
To address the family impact of a cancer diagnosis in a child, recognizing
the psychosocial needs of each family member as individuals, in
addition, to the needs of the entire family unit
Survivorship
To continue to serve children and families over the long term, considering
the shift from providing services to families of children with cancer
from an acute to chronic approach
Mental Well-Being
To address the psychosocial issues specific to families who have
experienced medically intensive treatments, such as bone marrow
or stem cell transplantation
